busy busy

It's hard to believe that AJ 5 1/2 weeks old already. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was pregnant? My sister has asked me a few questions about the last few months of pregnancy and I've already forgotten about them, is it possible to forget so quickly? The answer is yes, and that is very surprising!! A little update on Mal, she is due Nov. 19 and my dad is flying down to FL this weekend to help her drive to MC, where she will be having the baby.

AJ has been busy. He's already seen his dad's volleyball team play twice. Unfortunately, they lost, but the girls were excited to finally meet AJ. We were going to the game tonight (Oct. 14) but AJ has developed what seems to be a little cold, so we stayed in.

Saturday, October 4, Brian and Betsy Habich came to visit and meet AJ for the first time. They stayed for most of the day and we rocked out on Rockband. AJ was so comfortable with them that he curled up in their arms and slept all day. On Sunday, Nonna, Grandpa Beck, Bryan and Emily (we missed you Courtney!!) came into town. This was the first time that AJ met Uncle Bryan and boy, did he love him! Bryan stayed the night Sunday and left Monday night. He was lucky enough to see what mom and AJ do all day after AJ's been up all night....

Adam had a Thursday and Friday of last week off so we took off for the weekend. On Thursday we headed into Kalamazoo to see the Beck family and on Friday we left for Michigan City to see the Silcox family. Unfortunately he wasn't able to meet all of the family members yet, but will soon enough.

Saturday, the three of us headed into Bloomington, IL for Ashley and Kenny's wedding, some friends of mine from college. I was really excited for a bunch of my Valpo buddies to meet AJ, especially Casey Losiniecki, whom I've known since I was in diapers!! We stayed long enough to see some dancing but then had to get going since it was a 2 1/2 hr drive back to Michigan City. AJ, being the perfect child he is :), did great at the wedding, he didn't cry once during the ceremony and slept the entire way home.

Sunday we woke up, had breakfast and continued our fun filled weekend of mostly driving. The greatest thing happened before we left MC. As Grandma was saying goodbye to AJ, he SMILED, and it wasn't a gassy smile! He is now smiling a lot and last night at dinner, AJ giggled!! It's so much fun to watch him get older!

The drive into Grosse Pointe wasn't as smooth as we'd have liked (AJ cried most of the way) but we made it back home after a great weekend. Over the weekend, Adam and I decided that it was time to move AJ from the bassinet in our room, which he has grown out of, to the crib in his room Sunday night. Mom had a hard time with him crying at first, but after he ate, he fell right asleep!! So, he's now sleeping in his own room and mom and dad can finally get some sleep.

Great job to Aunt Emily for running the Chicago marathon on Sunday!! We're so proud of you!!
