After 10 months of waiting and 17 hours of labor we finally welcomed AJ (Andrew James) to our family September 4, 3 weeks ago today! He was a healthy 8 lbs, 4 oz and 20 inches long. We left the hospital on Saturday morning and it has been an exciting adventure ever since!AJ is a very happy baby, he loves being held (by anyone) and he rarely cries (thank goodness.) He is still doing the typical newborn thing of sleeping all day and staying up all night, but it's slowly getting better! He's also a very strong boy-we were amazed to watch him hold his head up after only 1 week. We can't believe how fast he is growing. A friend of ours let us borrow a scale and I weighed him last night after a bath and was amazed to see he was almost 10 lbs!!
Wally and Maggie (our dogs) seem to be responding well to AJ. Maggie shows the most interest right now, always sniffing and licking his feet and Wally will smell him, but then walk away. I think Wally is still pouting since he doesn't get ALL of the attention anymore.
Adam and I are still getting used to some things, like no sleep and learning what each cry means, but it's so much fun to see what each day will bring!
