Mom's behind...

I know, I know--I've let things here on the blog get a little behind. After Thanksgiving, I had to finish planning Adam's 30th birthday bash. Also, AJ hasn't been taking very good naps lately. He had a great Thanksgiving, finally meeting the rest of the family (and his baby cousins--who are all within 3 months of each other!) A few weekends later, while I was in Kalamazoo getting ready for Adam's party, he rolled over--3 times!!! Unfortunately, Adam missed it, so we've been working hard to have that happen again--for Dad! We can't wait for Christmas, to see the whole family again!

Here's what we've been up to:
Thanksgiving with the Beck's

Thanksgiving with the Silcox's

All of the new cousins having pictures taken:
AJ, Johnathon, Ava and Tessa were all elves and Landon was Santa!

Smiling is my favorite!!

AJ just got a new toy--an exersaucer! He does a great job of holding his head up while he's in it, but he's still a little small. In a few weeks, it's going to be his favorite toy!

As for loving toys, he sure does love his bouncer!! Here is a little video I took the other day:

Adam has been reading to AJ every night and he really enjoys looking at the pictures!

Dreaming...

AJ has been doing a lot of dreaming lately while he sleeps! It's the cutest thing in the world--hopefully he's not dreaming of anything too scary :) I apologize for the shaking of the camera, my little guy was making me laugh!!

Strong Baby!

AJ had his two month appointment on Wednesday morning. He weighs 14.8 lbs (95th percentile) and he is 23.5 in long (60th percentile.) Our little guy is short and stocky!!

While we were waiting for Dr. Pierron to come in, AJ was lying on his tummy. When she arrived, he was holding his head way up high for her, then he proceeded to pick his arms and legs up off the table and balance on his belly!! It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen him do! (Of course, I didn't have my camera to take a picture.) The Dr. was really surprised by this and said that she had never seen a baby under 6 months do that, he's so strong!!! Everything went really well with his appointment, he's a very healthy boy! Next up, his 2 month shots, which may be worse for mom than him.

He has found his hand, which he sticks in his mouth constantly. There have been a few instances where he's been sucking his thumb. He's also been playing a lot on his exercise mat, mainly just staring at the colors and the singing star. I still can't believe he is 2 months old already! He's growing so quickly.

8 weeks old and Happy Halloween!!

AJ is now 8 weeks and is celebrating his first Halloween. Adam had the day off of work today (Friday) to finish grades and comments but he's already done. AJ and Dad had a nice day of bonding while Mom ran errands--alone!!

Go Blue!

This past weekend, AJ attended his first University of Michigan game (as well as Mom!!) We were gone all day, left at 11:30am and got back home at 9:00pm. AJ did great! He slept through the entire game and the noise didn't even bother him.

On Sunday, AJ got a visit from Aunt Mal and Aunt Lo and future cousin Heflin, who is due Nov. 19. Mallori decided to come visit but this will be the last weekend she is able to travel. AJ sure did a lot of laughing!!

Last Wednesday, October 22 was Mom's 26th birthday, my first birthday as a new mom! AJ gave me the best gift ever. I picked him up after a nap and decided to take a few picture of us. While I was taking the pictures, he was laughing!! I loved it-happy birthday to me!!

busy busy

It's hard to believe that AJ 5 1/2 weeks old already. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was pregnant? My sister has asked me a few questions about the last few months of pregnancy and I've already forgotten about them, is it possible to forget so quickly? The answer is yes, and that is very surprising!! A little update on Mal, she is due Nov. 19 and my dad is flying down to FL this weekend to help her drive to MC, where she will be having the baby.

AJ has been busy. He's already seen his dad's volleyball team play twice. Unfortunately, they lost, but the girls were excited to finally meet AJ. We were going to the game tonight (Oct. 14) but AJ has developed what seems to be a little cold, so we stayed in.

Saturday, October 4, Brian and Betsy Habich came to visit and meet AJ for the first time. They stayed for most of the day and we rocked out on Rockband. AJ was so comfortable with them that he curled up in their arms and slept all day. On Sunday, Nonna, Grandpa Beck, Bryan and Emily (we missed you Courtney!!) came into town. This was the first time that AJ met Uncle Bryan and boy, did he love him! Bryan stayed the night Sunday and left Monday night. He was lucky enough to see what mom and AJ do all day after AJ's been up all night....

Adam had a Thursday and Friday of last week off so we took off for the weekend. On Thursday we headed into Kalamazoo to see the Beck family and on Friday we left for Michigan City to see the Silcox family. Unfortunately he wasn't able to meet all of the family members yet, but will soon enough.

Saturday, the three of us headed into Bloomington, IL for Ashley and Kenny's wedding, some friends of mine from college. I was really excited for a bunch of my Valpo buddies to meet AJ, especially Casey Losiniecki, whom I've known since I was in diapers!! We stayed long enough to see some dancing but then had to get going since it was a 2 1/2 hr drive back to Michigan City. AJ, being the perfect child he is :), did great at the wedding, he didn't cry once during the ceremony and slept the entire way home.

Sunday we woke up, had breakfast and continued our fun filled weekend of mostly driving. The greatest thing happened before we left MC. As Grandma was saying goodbye to AJ, he SMILED, and it wasn't a gassy smile! He is now smiling a lot and last night at dinner, AJ giggled!! It's so much fun to watch him get older!

The drive into Grosse Pointe wasn't as smooth as we'd have liked (AJ cried most of the way) but we made it back home after a great weekend. Over the weekend, Adam and I decided that it was time to move AJ from the bassinet in our room, which he has grown out of, to the crib in his room Sunday night. Mom had a hard time with him crying at first, but after he ate, he fell right asleep!! So, he's now sleeping in his own room and mom and dad can finally get some sleep.

Great job to Aunt Emily for running the Chicago marathon on Sunday!! We're so proud of you!!

So big!!

AJ will be 4 weeks old tomorrow, October 1, and he is getting so big!!

This past weekend was the first weekend that Adam and I didn't have any visitors. We recently joined Netflix so we spent Friday in watching a movie, Saturday was full of football (GO BLUE!!), and Sunday we took a long walk and went to the park. It was AJ's first trip to the park and we're pretty sure he had a great time! He laid on a blanket while Adam and I threw the football, we tried to get AJ to hang on to the football, but he's a little small still ;) so we took a picture of him with it instead.

Does he look like a Michigan quarterback yet?

Adam had Tuesday off of work for Rosh Hashana, so we took a trip to the library. AJ loves car and stroller rides, but I guess as long as he's moving, he's happy. We made the mistake of letting AJ sleep all day Tuesday, and it was a loooooong night for mom. Good thing I'm not working yet so I can be lazy all day after nights like that.

I post a lot of pictures on Facebook, but you don't have to be a member to see them. Try these links, and you should be able to see all of the pictures I've posted:
